Rams Set to Host Doug Max Invitational

Colorado State to celebrate graduating seniors at final home meet of the season
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Colorado State track and field team will round out their outdoor season at home on the Jack Christiansen Track this Saturday. Once the regular season concludes, the Rams will look toward the Mountain West Championships, taking place May 9-11 in Clovis, California.

- The Doug Max Invitational is hosted by Colorado State University and will take place on the Jack Christiansen Track.
- Field events will start at 10 a.m. with the men's hammer throw, followed by the women. At 10:20, the women will kick off the 5,000-meter run on the track.
- There will be a brief break after the men's 110-hurdles at 12:35 p.m. for senior recognition. As well as at 2:15 to honor the memory of Colton Kaase, a forever Ram who passed last summer.
- A rolling schedule will be running, but will not run more than 15 minutes ahead.Â

- Last week the Rams took on a cold day in Golden, Colorado, competing in the Kit Mayer Classic. The team collected 23 podium placements.
- Sam Mrky was named Mountain West Men's Field Athlete of the Week after his stellar performance. Mrky claimed a new personal record in pole vault with a mark of 5.11 meters. His performance is good for second in the Mountain West standings and eighth overall in the NCAA Mountain Region. He also moves to No.2 in Colorado State's record book.
- Seniors who competed last week on the women's side include Taylor Rowe, who competed in the women's 100-meter dash and finished third with a time of 12.42 seconds, Anna Petr, who placed first in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:30.05, and Makayla Williams who competed in the 400-hurdles for second place (1:03.96) and the 4x400 relay with Taye Holker for first (45.80).
- On the men's side, Ryan Birkmeier ran 1:51.66 in the 800 meter, Drew Thompson placed eighth in the 400 hurdles (56.22), Mason Adams, cleared a height of 4.81 for seventh in pole vault, and Mariano Kis took first in discus with a distance of 52.75 meters.
- Other graduating seniors to look out for this upcoming week include Yasmin Austridge, Sarah Carter, Emily Chaston, Michaela Hawkins, Claire Hengesbaugh, Quinn McConnell, Gabi Morris, Lauren Neugeboren, Celyn Stermer, Ben Randall, Ryan Blake, Mason Brown, Allam Bushara, Jack Cauble, Max Christenberry, Sam Griffith, Levi Killian, Lars Mitchel, Jackson Morris, Tom Oates and Tom Willems.
