Rams!
What a great weekend it was to kick off the 2024 football home schedule! Thanks to YOU for packing Canvas Stadium for the THIRD LARGEST CROWD in stadium history! Saturday was an amazing day!

Myself, Coach Norvell and the entire football program cannot THANK YOU enough for showing up and showing out last weekend. You help make us better!

Last weekend was not just special because of the home opener and celebrating our Aggie roots, but for recognizing and honoring Lt. Col. John Mosley. It was humbling to spend extended time with his family as we retired No. 14 across all of our sports. The entire weekend encapsulated who he was and the amazing impact he had on Colorado State, our community and our nation. We will forever be reminded of his legacy as we see his name and number permanently affixed on Canvas Stadium.

Who else had a great time enjoying the party we threw on campus Saturday? Starting with the Ag Day BBQ and ending with the fireworks shot off as we picked up our first win of the season, it made for an incredible day! I hope you enjoyed the entertainment and atmosphere at Canvas Stadium. We introduced many new initiatives last week including the March to Victory Parade down Meridian Avenue 48 minutes prior to kickoff in honor of Fum McGraw, the Marching Band's new location at the 50-yard line, the DJ in the student section, and the new battering ram. We learned a lot and look forward to continually improving the experience starting this Saturday.

That is just the start as we have more great game day experiences to come this week!

Speaking of this week, IT'S SHOWDOWN WEEK! For the first time since 1996 Fort Collins will host the Rocky Mountain Showdown. I can not wait for 5:30 p.m. on Saturday with the whole nation tuning in as we host Colorado! Let's just say I had a few less gray hairs the last time the game was in our great city.

As we prepare to put on another spectacular game day experience this week, we need your help! Be LOUD, be PROUD, and be RESPECTFUL. Rivalries are what make college athletics so much fun and a part of why I fell in love with them. While for 60 minutes between the lines we are battling to see who reigns supreme on the gridiron, we must remember all fans in attendance are our neighbors and fellow Coloradoans. Saturday will be a great showcase for our football program, our athletic department, our university, our city and our state! Show off what it means to be a Ram with exemplary sportsmanship. And while I'm on that topic, please note that any inability to comply with our sportsmanship policies will not only cause removal from the facility but also jeopardize the ability to attend any future Colorado State Athletic events and possible legal issues. Sportsmanship and respect are pillars of our department and we look forward to you joining us in that core value.

Game day is the best day of the week and I'm so excited just thinking about the atmosphere on Saturday! Please download your tickets in advance, parking lots open at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, so please make plans to arrive early to avoid traffic, we have declared a Green Out, so please wear green, and be in your seats early to welcome the Rams on the field.  We are working hard to make sure the game day experience is welcoming to all fans and creates a fun home field advantage for our team and Coach Norvell. As always, your feedback is important.

Let's have a spectacular week Ram Country and get to Canvas Stadium early Saturday for another great game day!

Go Rams!
