Handful of Rams compete on final day of CU Potts Invite
BOULDER – Colorado State capped off the first event of the new year by competing in four races in Boulder. Fourteen Rams made the short trip south on the second day of the Potts Invite, gaining experience in the 800 meters and mile races. Â

Colorado State took home second place finishes in both the men's and women's 800-meter races with Hayley Trotter leading the pack on the women's side. The Nebraska transfer finished runner-up with a time of 2:17.51 in her first event as a Colorado State Ram. Â

Trotter was followed closely behind by fellow sophomore Brooklyn Ewert who also made her track season debut, competing for the first time since the completion of her cross-country season in October.Â

The men's 800 featured two Rams, Reuben Holness and Cal Banta, who finished second and fourth place, respectively. Â Holness finished just shy of first place in an impressive showing for the sophomore. Â

Colorado State will be back in Boulder next week for the Colorado Classic. The bout takes place across Friday Jan.17 and Saturday Jan. 18.Â
