Colorado State Hosts Boise State for White Out

CSU men’s basketball returns home Wednesday to host Boise State

FORT COLLINS – Colorado State men's basketball hosts its annual White Out game on Wednesday night when Boise State comes to town. The Rams and Broncos will tip-off at 6 p.m. MT.

Opening Tip
- Colorado State's picked up its first win in Laramie over Wyoming in three years on Saturday 79-63.
- The Rams controlled the game throughout shooting 51.9% from the field while holding the Cowboys to 39.7%.
- Nique Clifford led the Rams with his eighth double-double of the year. He had a complete performance with 23 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and a steal.
- Clifford averages 16.9 points, 9.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.0 steals per game.
- He is the only Division I player to have at least 300 points, 175 rebounds and 60 assists this season.
- Clifford is third in the nation with 8.50 defensive rebounds per game and 19th for total rebounds at 9.8.
- He was selected to the preseason All-Mountain West team after earning third team honors last season.
- Jaylen Crocker-Johnson set the tone early for CSU scoring the first seven points inside including an and-1. The sophomore finished the game with 11 points, his sixth double figures scoring game of the year. 
- Jalen Lake is having a strong senior season averaging 12.8 points on 43.4% shooting including 35.5% from behind the arc.
- He scored a team-leading 10 against Wyoming hitting at least one 3-pointer for the eight straight contest.
- Sophomore Kyan Evans has turned a corner in the past eight games averaging 10.6 points shooting 52.9% from 3-point range with 3.6 assists per game in his last eight games.
- Colorado State's bench followed up a two-point performance at San Diego State with 22 points on Saturday. Bowen Born led the unit with eight points including knocking down a pair of 3s.
- CSU ranks 16th in the nation making 78.4% of its free throw attempts this season.
- Colorado State's defense has turned it up in conference play. They are allowing just 64.9 points and holding opponents to 40.6% shooting.
- In conference games only, the Rams ranks third in Bartorvik for adjusted defensive efficiency at 95.5 and KenPom as well at 96.3.
- Head coach Niko Medved is in his seventh year leading Colorado State. He is 128-82 as the Rams' head coach. He has the second most wins in program history trailing only Jim Williams (1955-80) and his 352.
- He became the fifth coach in program history to reach 100 wins in Fort Collins last year.
- Medved is the only coach in program history to win 20-plus games four times.
- He picked up his 200th career win in November with the Rams' overtime win over TCU.
- CSU has two players currently in the NBA or G League with David Roddy (Atlanta Hawks) and Isaiah Stevens (Miami Heat/Sioux Falls Skyforce).
 
Scouting the Broncos
Boise State has split its last six games going between wins and losses. The Broncos most recently fell to New Mexico in the Pit 84-65 last Friday night.
 
Mountain West preseason Player of the Year Tyson Degenhart leads BSU with 17.5 points and 6.0 rebounds a game.
 
The Broncos have one of the top offenses in the Mountain West scoring 78.0 points per game and rank atop the Mountain West in conference games only for offensive efficiency on both KenPom and Bartorvik.

Colorado State heads to California to face Fresno State on Saturday, January 25 at 5 p.m. MT.
