Rams Claim Win over Nevada on the Road

Colorado State goes 2-0 on week eight road trip
RENO, Nev. – The Colorado State volleyball team defeated the Nevada Wolf Pack Saturday afternoon at the Virginia Street Gym in Reno, Nevada.

Up Next: The Rams return to Fort Collins for two home matchups during week nine of conference play. First, they face Air Force again next Thursday at 7 p.m. before hosting the Wyoming Cowgirls Saturday at noon. Both games will take place at Moby Arena.

- The Rams started their eighth conference matchup of the season with their freshman phenom Halle Jameson taking control of the match early. The Rams won the first set 25-23 behind Jameson's nine kills in the first set alone. Heading into the red zone tied 20-20, the Rams had a 100% side out rate in the final five points to go up 1-0.
- In the second set, Nevada answered with a set win of its own, outhitting the Rams .204 to .200 in a tight 25-22 set win.
- Entering the advantage third set, it was middle blocker Brenna Rowland that gave the Rams an extra spark to take a 2-1 set lead on the road. Rowland totaled seven kills on ten attempts and zero errors in the third frame alone as the Rams saw a four-point service run early from setter Erin Debiec, and held that cushion throughout the set to win 25-20.
- In the fourth set, offensive leader Eve Wilson sealed the victory for Colorado State with four kills in the frame, ending the afternoon with 16 total hitting at a .433 clip. This set it was libero Aine Doty that put together the five-point service run to allowing the Rams to play with the lead through the rest of the set. Doty and the Colorado State defense held Nevada to a .051 hitting percentage in the fourth set, its lowest set-by-set clip of the day.
- Other leaders for the Rams include Jameson who totaled 14 kills on the day, hitting at a .286 clip. Wilson also added five block assists to her Saturday effort and Doty led the CSU backline with 11 digs by the end of the afternoon.
