Shivers nets first career goal as CSU closes road trip with win
SAN JOSE, Calif. — Colorado State soccer (8-3-3, 2-2-2 MW) wrapped up its California road swing with a 4-1 win at San José State on Sunday afternoon at CEFCU Stadium.
The result marked a strong bounce-back performance for the Rams, who had scored once over their previous two matches. Colorado State's 10 shots on goal were among its highest totals of the season, and the team's three second-half scores reflected the offensive rhythm which has characterized its best outings. Defensively, CSU limited San José State to two shots on frame while goalkeeper Gray Willson was called on for just one save.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Mia Casey opened the scoring in the 24th minute and the Spartans equalized 10 minutes later. After halftime, the Rams surged ahead as Jessica Shivers recorded her first career goal in the 66th minute, assisted by Casey. Olivia Fout extended the lead in the 71st with a finish from Bridget Arnold and Michaela McGowan capped the win with a goal in the 90th minute and her fifth goal of the season.

· Shivers' goal was the first of her career.
· Casey's goal and assist marked another consistent showing from one of CSU's top three leaders in goals, assists and points.
· Fout added her team-leading seventh goal of the season.
· The four-goal performance marked the Rams' highest-scoring match of the season and their first conference win on the road.
