Rams Drop Season Finale on Senior Day

11/28/2025 4:07:00 PM | Football

Beers breaks tight end record for scoring catches in a year

FORT COLLINS – Playing catch up from the jump, Colorado State fell 42-21 to Air Force in the final game of the 2025 season.

The Falcons scored on their first two possessions of the game to jump out to a 14-0 lead and never looked back as the Rams closed the year 2-10, 1-8 in Mountain West play. It was the fewest wins for a CSU team since going 1-11 in 1988.

On a day when the Rams honored 24 seniors, there were some individual highlights put up along the way. Rocky Beers broke the school record for touchdown catches in a season by a tight end when his 38-yard scoring catch in the fourth gave him seven for the campaign. Running back Lloyd Avant became the first Ram this year with 100 yards receiving in the game, his eight catches netting 135 yards. He found the end zone on a 5-yard run in the second quarter. It was also the first time this season a CSU quarterback threw for 300 yards, with Brousseau hitting on 28-of-37 passes for 323 yards and two scores, the first a 20-yard connection with Tay Lanier. Lanier finished with nine receptions for 73 yards

Defensively, linebacker Owen Long – the national leader in tackles entering the game with 134 – notched 17 more in the game (including a sack), his 151 stops ranking seventh in a single season at CSU.

In an effort to gain some traction, Colorado State attempted a pair of onside kicks, both recovered by the Falcons. Each time, Air Force used the short fields to score touchdowns and stretch the lead, the last one producing the final score.
