NOTING THE GAME
  • Moby Madness: Moby Madness is the best home court advantage in the Mountain West, and the numbers back it up. Across the past five seasons (since 2020-21) Colorado State men's and women's basketball combine for the best home winning percentage in the league (.821), in addition to the Ram women's team leading the league with a home win percentage of .826. CSU is the only school in the conference to win 80% of its home games across both programs during that stretch.
  • Rams Protect The Rock: The Rams do a lot of good things, but one of their secrets to success is actually something they DON'T do: Turn the ball over. The Rams have led the nation in fewest turnovers per game each of the past four seasons, coughing it up just 8.7 times per game in 2024-25 which was the only mark below 10.5 in the country. Over the past decade of NCAA DI women's college basketball, only two programs have averaged less than nine turnovers a game across a season: Villanova (2014-15, 2015-16), and Colorado State (2022-23, 2024-25).
  • Dynamic Duo: Colorado State fans fell in love with the thrilling pair of Illinois freshmen Brooke Carlson and Kloe Froebe last season, and for good reason. The self-proclaimed best friends became the third-highest freshmen scoring duo in program history, putting themselves in pretty elite company. The Illinoisans combined for 521 total points, trailing program legends Becky Hammon & Katie Cronin (947 points, 1995-96) and Ellen Nystrom & Elin Gustavsson (643 points, 2013-14).
  • 20-Or-More: Colorado State has been a model of consistency under head coach Ryun Williams as the Rams have won 20-or-more games in each of the past four seasons. Throughout Williams' 13 seasons at the helm of the program, CSU has won at least 20 games in nine of those years.
  • One Last Ride: The 2025-26 campaign marks the final in the Mountain West for Colorado State as the Rams announced they will be leaving the league to join the Pac-12 beginning in the summer of 2026. Colorado State was a founding member of the MW in 1999 and have won seven conference titles (tournament and regular season) since.
  • Loyal Rams: In an age of college athletics where playing at multiple schools has become the norm, Marta Leimane and Hannah Ronsiek have shown that sometimes it can be best to plant your roots and grow. The pair of fourth-year seniors have combined to play in 171 games with 101 starts over their three seasons in the Green and Gold, helping the Rams to three-consecutive 20-win campaigns. Entering their final season of eligibility, the duo are set on winning their first conference championship together.
  • Ryun "W"illiams: The winningest coach in program history, Ryun Williams surpassed 250 victories across his soon-to-be 14-season tenure with Colorado State during the 2024-25 season. Williams has also collected the most Mountain West regular season wins among active coaches in the league, leading Boise State's Gordy Presnell by three. Williams' 144 wins in MW play are second only behind Joe Legerski's 159 (Wyoming, 2003-19).
