Froebe Secures Third MW Freshman of the Week Award

Guard averaged near doube-double in two Ram wins.
FORT COLLINS – Colorado State's Kloe Froebe was named the Mountain West Freshman of the Week for her role in helping the Rams to two conference wins this past week, the league announced on Monday.

Froebe averaged 13.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists while playing 25.9 minutes off the bench. Even more impressive, nine of the 5-foot-8 guard's 16 total rebounds came on the offensive glass. This is the third freshman of the week honor for the Lincoln, Ill., native, who is tied with Meadow Roland (UNLV) and Nat Martinez (San Diego State) for the most this season.

In the 72-54 home win over Utah State, Froebe was the Rams' leading scorer and rebounder with a monster double of 20 points and 11 boards – six of which were offensive. It was the second double-double of the year for Froebe, which is tied with Emma Ronsiek for the most by a Ram. Froebe was at it again in CSU's 65-58 win at Air Force, posting seven points and five rebounds to help the Rams snap a four-game losing streak at Clune Arena.

Froebe and the Rams are back at home this week for two games at Moby Arena with major conference championship implications. Colorado State squares off against Fresno State on Wednesday (Feb. 19) at 6:30 p.m. in the annual Orange-Out game, and on Saturday (Feb. 17) the Rams play host to first-place UNLV at 1 p.m. in a Pink Out.
