Colorado State soccer welcomes Michael Wilson to the staff
FORT COLLINS – Head coach Keeley Hagen welcomes Michael Wilson to the Colorado State soccer program as an assistant coach, announced by the team on Monday. Wilson brings experience across many levels with him to Fort Collins.
"I'm thrilled to welcome Michael as our new assistant coach at Colorado State University. Having known Michael and stayed in touch with him since our 2019 US Soccer A license course, I've seen firsthand the depth of his soccer knowledge and his genuine passion for player development," Hagen said. "His expertise and commitment are tremendous assets for our program, and I'm excited for the impact he'll make with our staff and players."
Wilson has been a coach on both the men's and women's side and, most recently, he ran and owned the Tulsa 918 Futbol Academy, where he planned and executed developmental plans for players age six to professionals. He has coached girls youth soccer at the ECNL, girl academy and development academy levels in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
He has a 105-41 record as a head coach across the high school and collegiate ranks. Wilson spent the most time at the Union High School in Tulsa as its head girls soccer coach. There, he accumulated a 62-15 record from 2017-22, leading the team to an undefeated state championship in 2022. As the head coach, he mentored 15 all-state players and the team achieved success off the field with a program-best 3.59 GPA. He also led Glenpool High School in Glenpool, Oklahoma to an undefeated state title.
Wilson has collegiate coaching experience as a head coach for both the men's and women's teams at Waldorf University from 2015-17 and assistant coach at his alma mater Northeastern State from 2012-24. His experience both as a head and assistant coach in college has produced 25 all-conference players, including three All-Americans at Northeastern State.
Colorado State is poised to continue its recent success in 2025, having reached the Mountain West semifinals the past two seasons. The 2025 campaign kicks off with an exhibition on August 8 at Nebraska. The regular season begins August 14 when the Rams host Utah Tech at 7 p.m.
