Wyoming Invite once again serves as inaugural race
FORT COLLINS– Colorado State cross country returns to competition this week, coming off a 2024 season in which two Rams made their way to Minnesota for the NCAA National Championships. With those senior runners departing, it opens opportunities to see who leads the way on a team that is filled with newcomers and experienced veterans. Â
WYOMING INVITE MEET INFORMATIONÂ
Date: Saturday, August 30thÂ

MEET NOTESÂ
Seniors Kensey May and Kenya Dennee look to lead the way for the women. The pair competed in Mountain Regionals last November in which they finished 37th and 65th, respectively. After a stellar freshman campaign in which she finished 60th at regionals, Allison Pippert also looks to make an impact entering her second season with the Rams.Â
The men's side is a similar story with four of the top seven finishers at Regionals moving on. Junior Chris Henry and senior Ben Kirbo look to build off strong showings at regionals, including a 52nd place finish for Henry. Â
Colorado transfer Caroline Mehlhorn looks to make her debut as a member of the Green and Gold. The redshirt junior finished 56th at Regionals in 2024 and looks to be a strong addition to the women's side. Â
The women's side is full of youth with eight true freshmen on the roster, including Fort Collins product Tatum Berg. The men's program brings in four true freshmen, including three from the Centennial State.Â
Last year, the women won the Wyoming invite for a sixth-consecutive running, while the men took second place. The meet has served as a staple on the Rams schedule, with it being the first competition of the season for the past seven campaigns. Â
