Culbert (Blackman), Hassan and Nystrom to be honored

FORT COLLINS  – Colorado State is proud to announce the inductions of Adrianna Culbert (Blackman), Mostafa Hassan and Ellen Nystrom as the Class of 2025 for the Athletics Hall of Fame.

The newest members of the Hall enter with national championships, rare feats and resumes which put them among the best to participate in their respective sports in school history.

"It is an honor for us to welcome this class to the Colorado State Athletics Hall of Fame," Director of Athletics John Weber said. "Each of the inductees are ideal representatives of what we embrace at Colorado State, a relentless pursuit of excellence, done with class and grace. Their accomplishments are woven into the fabric of our proud history and traditions, each having accomplished something no Ram before them had done, and in turn raising the bar for those who have followed."

The trio will be honored at the Hall of Fame Induction Banquet on Friday, Sept. 5, as part of Hall of Fame and Ram Legends Weekend (Sept. 5-7). The group will then be recognized on the field during the Ag Day football game against Northern Colorado. Information about tickets for the Hall of Fame Banquet can be found here.

All Ram Legends will receive information about Ram Legends Weekend soon.

Adrianna Culbert (Blackman) | Volleyball
One of the best all-around players in program history, Culbert was a third-team AVCA All-American in 2015, a year after earning honorable mention. The 2015 Mountain West Player of the Year and a three-time All-Mountain West selection whose teams won four conference titles, she still ranks in the top 10 in CSU history in multiple categories. The highlight of her stalwart career came in 2015 on the road at San Jose State when she became just the second Division I player in the modern scoring era to record a quadruple double in a match – posting 10 kills, 20 assists, 13 digs and a career-best 11 blocks. Her quad came in four sets, where the other came in a five-set match. It led to her being named the NCAA National Player of  the Week – an honor she earned twice – the only player in CSU history to be so named.

Mostafa Hassan | Track and Field
There are only four Rams who have won a pair of national championships in their Colorado State careers, and Hassan is set to join two of them in the Hall of Fame. He won back-to-back NCAA Indoor titles in the shot put in 2017-18, finishing as the runner-up outdoors in 2017. A six-time first-team All-American, he won seven Mountain West championships combined indoor and outdoor. Twice he was named the conference Male Athlete of the Year and twice was named the Nye Award winner as the school's outstanding male athlete. He still holds the indoor and outdoor shot put records at CSU, as well as the Mountain West outdoor record. Since graduating, he has represented his home country of Egypt in both the 2020 and 2024 Olympic Games.

Ellen Nystrom | Women's Basketball
The only CSU player in history – man or woman – to record a triple-double in a game, she did so as part of a stellar freshman campaign which was a precursor to her fantastic career. Hailing from Sweden, Nystrom helped lead the Rams to four regular-season Mountain West titles and an NCAA Tournament berth in 2016. She graduated with the program record for assists (584), and still ranks in the top 10 in multiple categories. She was named the conference freshman of the year, becoming a three-time All-Mountain West selection and being named to the all-defensive team all four seasons. The 2017 Frank Award winner, her triple double came at Moby Arena against San Jose State, scoring 11 points with 10 assists and 14 rebounds.
