Langdon, Jamison and Taylor inch closer to top of CSU record book

BOULDER – Colorado State track and field finished off the Colorado Invite on Saturday with the men's 4x400 squad breaking the program record. At the UCCS invite, jumpers continue to bring national attention, with multiple athletes nearing program records in their respective events.

Colorado Invite (Boulder)
  • The highlight of Saturday came in the 4x400, with Kenny Carpenter, Emmett Murphy Travis Turner and Ashton Whisler stepping up to the plate. The mark of 3:09.01 just surpassed the former of 3:09.59 set in 2022. This was the first time these four Rams competed in a 4x400 together; the mark stands the best in the Mountain West and top-20 nationally.
  • Owen Langdon continues to have a stellar freshman campaign finishing first overall in the 60 hurdles and setting a personal best (7.72), moving into a tie for second best in Ram history. Not only is Langdon making strides at CSU, but his time currently lands as the third best by any freshman nationally, while sitting top 20 among all athletes. Langdon finds himself only behind Cole Nordman (7.71) who set the record last indoor season.
  • The women's half of the 60 hurdles saw more personal records, with Neya Jamison's 8.45 moving her into a tie for fifth all time in program history. Jamison's mark additionally ranks as the best time run by a Mountain West athlete this season. Following her was once again Grace Lanfear who also set a PR at 8.63, her second personal best in a row.
  • Distance runners made strides in the men's mile with Trent Nosky (4:15.91) and Ethan Mann (4:22.39), setting personal bests. The women's side saw Caroline Mehlhorn finish first place among attached runners, setting a personal best of 4:57.24.
  • Tyler Colwell claimed his third win in the 60 meters this season with a season high of 6.71; he also came first in the 200 meters at a mark of 21:31. The senior sits in a tie with John Woods for Colorado State's record in the 60 and is the sole holder of first place in the 200. Alora Tortorelli Cruz has also been a frequent winner once again taking home the first in the 60. She set a personal best of 7.56, to move up three spots into 15th place all time in program history.
  • Cross country standout Parker Westermann made his 800-meter debut, finishing third with a mark of 1:51.97. The freshman's debut in the race places him at 15th in program history. Jaycee Williams finished fifth in the women's 800, setting a PR of 2:14.44.
UCCS Invite
  • Men's triple jump saw Jamison Taylor claim the top spot, his mark of 15.81-meters/51-feet-10.25 is a personal best and the third best jump in program history. Following him is the man who holds second place in that category in Ndayiragije Shukurani, ending today with a mark of 15.61/51-2.5. The duo has been dynamite this season with both now ranking in the top 20 nationally for the triple jump.
Looking Ahead
  • The Rams get a much-deserved break before heading down to Boulder once again, this time for the Colorado Classic (Feb. 6-7). 7oii-
