Bigley Sets Program Record in Weight Throw

Program record in weight throw leads multiple podium finishes
BOULDER - Kyle Bigley broke the program record in the weight throw - which had stood for over two decades - with his mark of 21.71 meters/71-feet-2.5 and added a third-place finish in the shot put (17.11/56-0) on day one of the Colorado Classic in Boulder.
On the women's side, Colorado State secured five of the top six spots in both the shot put and weight throw. Makayla Long set a personal best in shot put with a mark of 16.84/55-2, maintaining her spot at No.6 in the Colorado State record book. Long also took home third in weight throw (18.43/60-4).Â
Erin Brown finished third in shot put with a distance of 14.35/47-0. Taking the number one and two spot in weight throw was Kajsa Borrman (21.65/71) and Klaire Kovatch (18.77/61-5), respectively. Borrman remains consistent after successfully throwing a mark of 21.70/71-2.5 last week at the Mines Winter Classic.
Other notable athletes include Ndayiragije Shukurani who placed first in the men's high jump (2.16/7). In the women's long jump, Tereza Babicka took home second (5.36/17-5). Maria Kimpson finished second in the women's pole vault (3.95/12-9.5). On the men's side, Taylor Waters secured second in pole vault (5.25/17-2).Â
Looking Ahead
The Rams are set to take on Day Two of the Colorado Classic in Boulder tomorrow, starting with the men's 60-meter hurdles at 11 a.m.
