Colorado State looks to continue one streak and end another

FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Colorado State men's basketball looks to continue one streak while ending another when they face New Mexico inside The Pit on Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. The Rams enter March on a seven-game win streak, going undefeated in February. Meanwhile, CSU looks to end its five-game losing streak against the Lobos.

Opening Tip
- Colorado State finished off February at 7-0 with an 85-73 win over San Jose State on Saturday.
- It is the first time in program history that CSU went undefeated in February.
- CSU had its best shooting game of the season going 62.2% from the field and an efficient 52.9% behind the arc and 83.3% at the free throw line.
- Colorado State has won 10-plus conference games 17 times in the program's history, six of those 17 occurrences have come with coach Ali Farkohmanesh on staff. (2019-20, 2020-21, 2021-22, 2023-24, 2024-25, 2025-26).
- Brandon Rechsteiner continues to stay hot from deep with six 3s on his way to a 20 point performance. Over the past three games he is averaging 5.3 threes per game making 57.1% of his attempts.
- It was the second straight game CSU had five players in double figures. Rechsteiner led the way with his 20 while Carey Booth and Rashaan Mbemba had 15 each. Jevin Muniz and Jase Butler added in 12 and 10, respectively.
- Muniz had his first double-double of the season adding 10 assists to his 12 points.
- All 15 of Booth's points game in the second half as he was a huge lift for the team including going 8-for-9 from the free throw line.
- New Mexico won the first meeting between the two teams in January 80-70 in Fort Collins. The Lobos have won the past five games between the programs.
- Ali Farokhmanesh now is tied for the third most wins by a first-year head coach at CSU with 19 with Richie McKay (1998-99). Only two coaches in program history have won 20-plus games in their first season. Larry Eustachy holds the record with 26 in 2012-23.
- CSU has been reaching the foul line often recently averaging 26.1 free throw attempts per game over the last seven games. The Rams are making 79.8% (146-183) of their attempts.
- The charity stripe has been a key to success for CSU during conference play, in wins they are averaging 27.1 free throw attempts per game compared to just 14.9 in losses. The Rams are shooting 75.5% from the free throw line in conference play.
- The Rams rank 23rd in the nation making 77.5% of its free throws overall this year.
- CSU ranks 97th in the nation and third in the Mountain West in assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.36.
- The Rams 15.9 assists per game are the second best in the Mountain West and 74th in the nation.
- Colorado State is assisting on 62.0% of its made field goals on the year, the 19th best mark in the nation.
- CSU's effective field goal percentage of 59.1% is eighth in the nation and leads the Mountain West.
- Colorado State has a pair of Mountain West Players of the Week so far this season in Kyle Jorgensen and Josh Pascarelli.
- Jorgensen's performance over the first week earned him Mountain West Player of the Week honors. The sophomore averaged 20.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.0 steal in the first two games of the season.
- Pascarelli earned his honor after his performance against Colorado (12/6/25). The junior scored 26 points connecting on eight 3-pointers for the second straight game.
- Colorado State has the longest active streak of having a player on the first team All-Mountain West list at seven years. Nico Carvacho (2019-20), David Roddy (2021-22), Isaiah Stevens (2023-24) and Nique Clifford (2025).

Scouting the Lobos
New Mexico enters the final weekend of the regular season in the thick of the Mountain West title race a game behind Utah State. The Lobos travel to the Aggies on Saturday to conclude the regular season.

First year coach Eric Olen's team is led by a pair of dynamic freshmen in Jake Hall and Tomislav Buljan. They provide a nice inside-out duo. Hall leads the Lobos with 15.9 points per game and shooting 44.5% behind the arc. Buljan is averaging a double-double with 12.1 points and 10.1 rebounds.

While the freshmen get plenty of the limelight, it is senior Deyton Albury who stirs the drink for UNM. The elder statesman is averaging 11.4 points and 3.0 assists per game.

The Rams wrap up the regular season on Saturday, hosting Boise State at 2 p.m. for Senior Day.
