CSU men’s basketball looks to extend eight-game winning streak

FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Colorado State men's basketball wraps up the regular season on Saturday hosting Boise State at 2 p.m. inside Moby Arena. Both teams come in with momentum as CSU is on an eight-game winning streak, while Boise State is on a four.

Opening Tip
- Colorado State extended its win streak to eight games with a 72-84 win at New Mexico. The win was the first for CSU at the Pit since 2021.
- The win marked the 20th of the year for CSU and sixth time in the past seven years the Rams have reached the mark.
- Ali Farokhmanesh became the third first-year head coach at CSU to reach 20 wins. He joins Larry Eustachy (26, 2012-13) and Boyd Grant (22, 1987-88)
- The Rams offense was clicking again shooting 58.5% including making 11 threes.
- Kyle Jorgensen (5) and Rashaan Mbemba (3) combined for eight of those 3s. Jorgensen's five matched his career-high, while Mbemba's three were his best.
- Five Rams reached double figures scoring for the third straight game. Jorgensen led the way with 19 points, while Brandon Rechsteiner and Carey Booth had 13, each and Jase Butler and Augustinas Kiudulas scored 11 a piece.
- Kidulas's 11 points off the bench were key in the win, including a second half 3 that stifled UNM's momentum in trying to come back.
- CSU has only one senior it will be honoring on Saturday in Jevin Muniz.
- Boise State won the first match up between the two teams 79-73 in Boise.
- Colorado State has won 10-plus conference games 17 times in the program's history, six of those 17 occurrences have come with coach Ali Farkohmanesh on staff. (2019-20, 2020-21, 2021-22, 2023-24, 2024-25, 2025-26).
- CSU has been reaching the foul line often recently averaging 26.1 free throw attempts per game over the last eight games. The Rams are making 78.9% (169-214) of their attempts.
- The charity stripe has been a key to success for CSU during conference play, in wins they are averaging 27.5 free throw attempts per game compared to just 14.9 in losses. The Rams are shooting 75.4% from the free throw line in conference play.
- The Rams rank 26th in the nation making 77.3% of its free throws overall this year.
- CSU ranks 106th in the nation and fourth in the Mountain West in assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.34.
- The Rams 16.0 assists per game are the second best in the Mountain West and 68th in the nation.
- Colorado State is assisting on 62.6% of its made field goals on the year, the 15th best mark in the nation.
- CSU's effective field goal percentage of 59.1% is eighth in the nation and leads the Mountain West.
- Colorado State has a pair of Mountain West Players of the Week so far this season in Kyle Jorgensen and Josh Pascarelli.
- Jorgensen's performance over the first week earned him Mountain West Player of the Week honors. The sophomore averaged 20.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.0 steal in the first two games of the season.
- Pascarelli earned his honor after his performance against Colorado (12/6/25). The junior scored 26 points connecting on eight 3-pointers for the second straight game.
- Colorado State has the longest active streak of having a player on the first team All-Mountain West list at seven years. Nico Carvacho (2019-20), David Roddy (2021-22), Isaiah Stevens (2023-24) and Nique Clifford (2025).

Scouting the Broncos
Boise State comes into Saturday with momentum themselves winning four straight, most recently defeating San Diego State at home 86-77.

The Broncos have four players averaging double figures scoring, led by Drew Fielder's 14.5 points per game.

Defensively, teams have been able to score on the Broncos at times with opponents shooting 46.0% against them and scoring 73.3 points.

What's Ahead
CSU and the rest of the Mountain West head to Las Vegas for the Mountain West Tournament, March 11-14, in the Thomas and Mack Center. The official bracket will be released Saturday at the conclusion of regular season play.
