Distance runners record multiple record book entries

SAN FRANSISCO â€“ Colorado State track and field's distance crew competed on Friday in the Bay Area. The Rams competed at both the Mike Fanelli Track Classic and the Stanford Invitational, where Catherine Garrison recorded the ninth best 3000-steeplechase of the 2026 outdoor season.
Stanford Invitational
  • Four Rams entered the 3000-meter steeplechase including freshmen Adeline Barker and Amrie Lacefield. Lacefield debuted in the event with a 10:33.03, placing eleventh all-time in CSU's record book.
  • However, the top time from the steeplechase came from William and Mary transfer Catherine Garrison. Garrison ran a blistering 10:03.94, a personal best and the fourth best mark in Colorado State history. The time ranks as the best in the conference by almost 30 seconds and ninth nationally. Garrison made regionals in the 2025 outdoor season finishing 17th.
  • The day began in the men's 5000 where Chris Henry and Ryan Schumacher entered for the Rams. Henry finished fourth in his heat recording a personal best 13:59.09 to move into 13th all-time for Colorado State. Schumacher ran in the same heat, finishing sixth with a time of 14:02.82 and entering the record book at 15th.
  • The women's side saw Ruby Schwelm serve as the sole entry in the 1500. The freshman finished third in her heat at 4:24.77, debuting at 14th all time for the Green and Gold. Schwelm finished third place in the mile at the Mountain West Indoor Championships just over a month ago.
Mike Fanelli Track Classic
  • On the men's side Davis Rydman entered the 5K recording a personal best 14:09.65, a top 20 time in the CSU record book. Trent Nosky ran the 1500, debuting in the event with a mark of 3:50.58
Looking Ahead
  • The Rams compete tomorrow once again at both California meets, additionally adding the Jerry Quiller Classic in Boulder, where about 40 Rams will be competing.
