MEET NOTES
Kenny Carpenter has claimed three school records this season including the indoor 400 and both the indoor and outdoor 4x400's. The junior has a chance to make it four in the outdoor 400-meter where he ranks second at CSU. The record is held by Drew Morano at 45.65 and has stood since 2008. Carpenter holds a time of 45.79 that he set at the Jack Christiansen Invite (March 27th).

CSU has over 35 entries that currently sit in the NCAA qualifying threshold and several Rams who are just outside of that top 48 bubble.
  • Rhys Travis (60th), Anastasia Murphy (53rd) in high jump
  • Erin Brown (59th) in discus, (69th) in hammer throw

CSU's women's throwers are having an all-time season; the group currently has 12 entries heading to regionals, five of which are in the discus, three in the hammer, two in the javelin and two in the shot put, giving the Rams some of the best depth in the nation. In the week five USTFCCCA rankings, the discus squad ranks second in the nation, with shot put and hammer squads following in fifth and seventh, respectively.

Another bright spot for the Rams this season is the hurdle crew. Neya Jamison ranks first in the conference in the 400 hurdles and fourth in the 100 hurdles, following her is teammate Grace Lanfear who ranks third in the 400 hurdles. The men's side prevails in depth with the 110 hurdles where the Rams hold the top three in Langdon, Trenton Givens and Bruns. The Green and Gold additionally hold six of the top 10 with support from Mateo Munoz, Joe Probst and Wetterling. Bruns, Langdon and Wetterling rank in the top five in the MW in the 400 hurdles as well.

The top 12 athletes from each regional competition will make the trip to NCAA Outdoor Nationals in Eugene, Oregon (June 10-13). Current CSU athletes in the top 12 of the West Region: Klaire Kovatch in the discus (2nd), Makayla Long in the shot put (6th), Kajsa Borrman in the hammer throw (9th), Catherine Garrison in the 3000-meter steeplechase (9th), and Langdon in the 110-hurdles (12th).
