O'Brien Selected to New Zealand's FIFA U-20 World Cup Squad

Freshman Ram forward earns another cap for the Junior Football Ferns

FORT COLLINS – Colorado State freshman forward Poppy O'Brien has been selected to New Zealand's squad for the FIFA Women's U-20 World Cup in Poland, New Zealand Football announced.

"I'm so excited and incredibly grateful to have been selected to represent my country at the U20 World Cup. It is such an honor and I can't wait to make the most of the opportunity." O'Brien said.

An Auckland, New Zealand, native, O'Brien has represented New Zealand at the U17, U19 and U20 levels, and was part of the U19 side that won the 2025 OFC World Cup qualifier in Tahiti. She also competed on New Zealand's U20 Pre-World Cup Tour in Australia earlier this year.

"It is a massive honor to represent your country, and I'm so proud of Poppy and her accomplishment," said Colorado State head coach Keeley Hagen.

O'Brien has already logged minutes in multiple games for the Rams as they work to create their inaugural Pac-12 portfolio.
