UC Davis and No. 11 SMU travel to Moby Arena for Welcome Back Weekend
FORT COLLINS – The Colorado State volleyball team kicks off its 2026 season and inaugural year in the Pac-12 conference Friday, August 28 at home against UC Davis before hosting No. 11 SMU on Saturday, both game in Moby Arena.
STARTING SEVEN
1. Colorado State is set to face UC Davis at Moby Arena on Friday Night at 6 p.m., to kick off its inaugural Pac-12 season and 2026 campaign. As a part of the return to Moby, this weekend will serve as Welcome Back Weekend and Family Night where there will be a ticket deal for a buy one get one tickets as well ass concessions deals available to fans.
2. The Rams will continue Welcome Back Weekend in Moby on Saturday against No. 11 SMU at 5 p.m. where students can enjoy free pizza before the match.Â
3. UC Davis travels to Moby Arena after being named No. 2 in the Moutain West preseason poll entering the 2026 season after going 21-7 last season. The Aggies opening match in Fort Collins this weekend will serve as their inaugural year in the Mountain West. No. 11 SMU opened its season last weekend at the AVCA First Serve by sweeping defending national champions, No. 8 Texas A&M where Senior Gabi Palace recorded nine kills and a .389 hitting percentage.Â
4. The Rams were predicted to finish first in the Pac-12 preseason poll, as voted on by the leagues nine head coaches. Eve Wilson, Halle Jameson, and Erin Debiec earning spots on the pre-season Pac-12 Impact Players List. Read more about these three players here.
5. The Rams have added five freshman newcomers — Jaedyn Riley, Hayden Grimes, Olivia Ewing, Ella Stowell, and Abby Little — to the roster along with one graduate transfer in Sophie Stephenson.
6. All five of the Rams all-conference or all-tournament selections — Eve Wilson, Erin Debiec, Halle Jameson, Kekua Richards and Maria Brun — return for Colorado State and the 2026 season.
7. Head Coach Emily Kohan returners for her fourth season at the helm of the Rams and 11th year at Colorado State, alongside two new assistant coaches, April Sanchez and Bruno Chateau.
