Katie Wimp is in her second full year at Colorado State as the associate head equipment manager for Olympic sports. As part of her role, she manages all the equipment needs for the men’s basketball program, along with women’s basketball, soccer, swimming & diving, women’s tennis and men’s & women’s golf.
Wimp arrived at CSU from the University of Southern California, where she served as the equipment manager from July 2018-March 2020. During that time, she handled the men’s and women’s tennis operations along with assisting with football and men’s and women’s basketball.
Prior to that, she was an assistant equipment manager at Christopher Newport for one year, worked as an intern with the Rapid City Rush of the East Coast Hockey League for one season and also completed an internship with the UNC football program for one season.
During her undergraduate years at the University of Northern Colorado, she spent three years as a student football manager and eventually was promoted to interim assistant equipment manager for football during her senior year.
Wimp earned her Bachelor of Science in sports and exercise science with a minor in coaching from UNC in 2016.
