    Volunteer Assistant Coach
Murray Oliver joined the Colorado State women’s soccer program as a volunteer assistant coach at the start of the 2020 spring season. The Edinburgh, Scotland native has been on faculty at Colorado State University since 2008 in the School of Music where he is as versed as he is on the soccer field. He serves as the graduate and undergraduate coordinator for the Theatre and Dance Department. You can find him teaching music history or music theory as well.  

In addition to his time on CSU’s soccer field, Murray is the assistant director of coaching at United Soccer Club in Loveland, Colo., overseeing ages U15-19. Prior, Murray assisted Colorado Rapids (2018-20) and Colorado Storm (2016-18), coaching U11-U17. Oliver holds a USSF C License and National Youth License.
Prior to his time at CSU, Murray was a part of music faculty at the University of Columbia-Missouri, teaching trombone, euphonium, and conduced opera theatre.

Growing up, Murray played soccer, cricket, rugby, badminton, and skiing until music became his focus. Murray graduated with a Bachelor of Music in 2002 from the Royal Northern College of Music located in Manchester, UK , before obtaining his Master’s of Music in 2004 at Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York.

Currently, he is pursuing a Master of Arts in Sports Coaching at the University of Northern Colorado with a projected end date of May 2020. Murray is married to Tiffany and the couple has two children, Grace and Kate.
