Rocky Railey, who has been with Colorado State since June 1, 2018, now serves as the Director of Development Operations at Colorado State. She previously held the position as the Executive Assistant to the Director of Athletics with a wide variety of roles and duties.
Railey's stewardship to Colorado State dates back over 40 years when she graduated from the University with a bachelor's degree in Technical Journalism in 1982 and a two-year secretarial certificate in 1980. During her time as an undergraduate, Railey also assisted long-time sports information director Gary Ozzello.
Prior to coming back to Colorado State in 2018, Railey held various administrative assistant positions in the Littleton Public School System for nearly 20 years and was an executive assistant for the Colorado High School Activities Association during that time span.Â
Railey was a certified fitness instructor for approximately 20 years, that included working for eight years as a fitness coordinator and instructor with the South Suburban Park and Recreation District in Lone Tree, Colo. Prior to that, Railey continued her work in sports information at Cal State-Northridge and the University of Idaho. She was a Special Events Coordinator for the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and the venue press chief for the 1990 Goodwill Games in Spokane.
More than her professional accomplishments, Railey is most proud of her family. She is married to former Colorado State baseball coach Ran, and they are the parents of Hunter - married to Kate with granddaughter, Reese, and grand-puppy, Violet - and Dr. Ashley Railey - partnered with Dr. Adam Roth. The Raileys also keep busy with their golden retriever, Bernie, and cat Oscar.
