Shukurani, Munoz impress in Colorado Springs
COLORADO SPRINGS - Colorado State track and field put a bow on 2025 with the men's heptathlon and jumpers competing on Saturday at the UCCS Pre-Holiday Invite and Multis. Mateo Munoz completed his quest for first-place in the heptathlon while Ndayiragije Shukurani showed out in the triple jump.Â

Track and field now heads into the holiday break, with the CU Potts Invite (Jan. 16-17) starting off the new year.Â

- Shukurani dominated the triple jump, peaking at 15.91-meters/52-feet-2.50 to win by more than two feet. The jump sits as the second best in Colorado State indoor history and currently ranks as the third best in the NCAA this season. Â
- The women's side of the event saw Kylee Kielian and newcomer Joy Nnantah finish third and fourth, respectively. Kielian set an indoor personal best (11.97/39-3.25) while Nnantah jumped 11.71/38-5 to establish herself at 13th in school history.Â
- The 60-meter hurdles proved to be a bright spot for the Rams as senior Carsen Bruns finished first with a time of 8.16 seconds. In the heptathlon side of the event, Zach Sell (8.32) and Munoz (8.35) finished 1-2, with Munoz recording a personal best.Â
- Munoz kept up his Friday pace by finishing 1-2-3 in Saturday's events, including a personal best and first place finish in the 1,000 meters. He ended the weekend with 5,407 points, nearly two hundred more than the runner-up and 99 points better than his former personal best. Â
- The men's high jump saw a pair of Colorado State veterans return to action in Hari Brogan and Rhys Travis. The pair finished in a tie for second place at 2.04/6-8.25. On the women's side, Annastasia Murphy finished second place at 1.70/5-7, an indoor personal best. Â
