Bradlee Van Pelt transferred from Michigan State to become one of the finest quarterbacks in school history, providing a threat with his arm and his legs. The son of College Football Hall of Famer Brad Van Pelt, Bradlee wanted to play quarterback at the Division I level so bad he made the change to CSU. During his three seasons as the Rams’ quarterback, Van Pelt broke the school record for total offense (8,579). He also led the team to the 2002 Mountain West championship, three bowl games and became only the fourth player in NCAA history to throw for 5,000 yards and rush for 2,000 yards in a career, earning MW Offense Player of the Year honors twice.Â
Drafted by the Denver Broncos in the seventh round of the 2004 NFL Draft, Van Pelt remained a fan favorite at CSU years after his departure. He spent four years in the NFL with Denver and Houston and moved on to Italy and England playing for the Bergamo Lions of the Football League of Europe and the Leicester Falcons of the British American Football Association National Leagues before going into business on his own.Â
