Tennis Team Does Well At The Lloyd Stokstad Invitational

The Colorado State tennis team participated in the Lloyd Stokstad Invitational this past weekend at Drake University.
The Rams won five of the nine matches in the Grey Flight Singles. Sophomore Carla Pallares defeated freshman teammate Charity Malone to advance to the championship round. Pallares then beat Rose Ketmayura of Nebraska 7-6 (4), 6-3. Junior Alexandra Paganetti played well falling in the semifinals of her bracket.
In the Blue Flight singles, junior Dasha Zhurin placed second in the championship round, losing to Zorana Stefanovic of Drake.
In doubles action, Zhurin and freshman Emily Kirchem won one match and advanced to the final round. The team wasn?t able to pull off a win against Drake.
Teams in the tournament were Univ. of Illinois-Chicago, Iowa State, Nebraska and Northern Iowa.
The Rams will next travel to the ITA Regionals in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 22-26. This will be the last tournament of the fall season.
