The Colorado State women's tennis team wrapped up the fall season at the ITA Central Region Championships in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 25.

For the first time in school history, the Rams had two players advance out of the first round of the tournament. Dasha Zhurin and Emily Kirchem both advanced after the first round. Zhurin lost a tough match in the round of 16 to Yanick Dullens of the University of Denver. Kirchem lost in the round of 32 to Emily Haylock of the University of Kansas.

At the conclusion of the fall Jasmin Singh, a transfer from the University of Louisville, currently leads the Rams with a 7-3 singles record. Singh is followed closely by freshman Emily Kirchem, who carries a 6-3 record.

In doubles action the team of Emily Kirchem and Carla Pallares lead the Rams finishing with a 2-1 tournament record.

The Rams finish the fall season with a 37-26 tournament record in singles play, and 8-20 in doubles play for the fall. This is the best the Rams have finished in tournament play in the past three seasons. In the 2002-2003 season the Rams finished the fall season with a 36-35 tournament record in singles, and 12-17 in doubles. In the 2001-2002 fall season Colorado State finished 23-19 in singles play, and 12-6 in doubles.

Colorado State will have a break from competition until Jan. 30 when they head to Lincoln, Nebraska, to take on the University of Nebraska. The Rams' first home match will be against Texas Tech of the Big 12. CSU will have six home matches this spring.
