Women?s Tennis Finishes Play at BYU Invitational

The Colorado State women?s team wrapped up play at the BYU Invitational in Provo, Utah today. Five Rams? players competed in the final day of the tournament.
Jasmin Singh placed the best for the Rams, winning the number seven singles division. Singh defeated Dina Naffa in straight sets 6-2, 6-2, to take the title.
Emily Kirchem also had an impressive tournament, defeating Amy Toth 6-2, 3-6, 6-2, to win third place in the number one singles division. Kirchem had lost to Barbara Zahnova 6-1, 6-0 in the semi-finals on Friday. Zahnova went on to win the number one singles division.
Freshman Charity Malone played well for the Rams. Malone lost a tough three-set match to Nora Gaal 6-3, 4-6, 7-5 for third place in the number three division singles. While Tatyana Ugorich fell to Telena Koprivieu for first place in number six singles division 6-2, 7-6(3).
Jessica Jones had to withdraw her third place match to Megan Bjorkman due to injury
The Rams will be back in action on Oct. 17 at the Drake Invitational in Des Moines, Iowa.
