Rams 35th After Fall Season

Cleveland, Ohio - As the fall season comes to a close, the Colorado State Rams are in 35th place in the United States Sports Academy Directors' Cup Standings.
The University of Michigan sits atop the United States Sports Academy Division I Directors' Cup standings. Michigan, which has led in the standings the entire year, has unseated perennial winner Stanford University, which had held the lead in every set of standings last year.
Michigan increased its lead and now holds a 184-point margin. The Wolverines have scored in seven sports, recording 482 points. They placed third in field hockey, fourth in women's cross country, fifth in men's soccer, seventh in I-A football, ninth in men's cross country and women's soccer and 17th in volleyball.
In second place with 298 points is UCLA. The Bruins placed third in women's soccer, fifth in men's soccer and volleyball and seventh in women's cross country. They are followed by Stanford, in third with 289 points; Maryland, fourth with 275 points; and Brigham Young in fifth with 248 points.
These are the final fall standings are based upon the sports of women and men's cross country, field hockey, I-A and I-AA football, women and men's soccer and volleyball. Winning these national championships were Stanford in women and men's cross country, Wake Forest in field hockey, Louisiana State in I-A football*, Delaware in I-AA football, North Carolina in women's soccer, Indiana in men's soccer and Southern California in volleyball.
The United States Sports Academy Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. The United States Sports Academy, based in Daphne, Alabama, is in its first year sponsoring the program. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 20 sports - 10 women's and 10 men's. Each national champion receives 100 points.
