Ram Sports Update ? Oct. 7

Football ? Record: 1-4 (0-1 MWC)
The Ram football team opened conference play last weekend with a tough loss at home to BYU, 31-21. The Rams will take a week off before returning to the gridiron to take on San Diego State on Oct. 16 at 5 p.m. mT/4 p.m. PT. The game will be televised on ABC.

Volleyball ? Record: 12-1 (4-0 MWC)
Tom Hilbert has his volleyball team firing on all cylinders. The Rams have not lost a match against a Mountain West opponent this season or last. Colorado State will take on Wyoming in Moby Arena on Friday night.

Cross Country
Head Coach Del Hessel continues to build his program on a weekly basis. The Rams are currently preparing for the Pre-NCAA meet in Tere Haute, Ind. on Oct. 16.

Softball ? Record: 6-1 Preseason
Lincoln, Neb. will be the site of four games for the Rams this weekend. Colorado State is looking to improve upon their MWC regular season championship team from a year ago.

Swimming and Diving
The swimming and diving team will begin its season Oct. 22-23 at the Early Bird Invitational at EPIC in Fort Collins, Colo. The Rams will be participating in a 5,000-yard fundraiser on Oct. 16. For more information call 970-491-7242.

Tennis
Seniors Dasha Zhurin and Alexandra Paganetti lead Colorado State into Colorado Springs, Colo. on Oct. 8-10 to take part in the Air Force Invitational. The tennis team returns six starters from a year ago.

Men?s and Women?s Basketball
Both of the Colorado State basketball teams will get the 2004-2005 season underway at Pitch Black: Moby Midnight Madness on Oct. 16. There will be fun games and activities to mark the official beginning of basketball season. Admission is FREE!

Men?s Golf
The men?s golf team is coming off of the best single season in school history. The team will travel to Fresno, Calif. and Palo Alto, Calif. for two tournaments in the coming weeks.

Women?s Golf
Angie Hopkins and the women?s golf team are on a roll midway through the fall season. The Rams are coming off of a victory in the Ptarmigan/Ram Fall Classic and a second place finish in the Heahter Farr Memorial. Next, the Rams will leave Colorado state borders and travel to the Boise State Invitational in Boise, Idaho.
