Messick Wins Community Service Award

Colorado State head tennis coach Jon Messick was named as a sectional winner of the USTA/ITA Community Service Award. The announcement came on Tuesday.
Messick, in his 16th season as head coach at Colorado State, has guided CSU?s tennis team to regional rankings in five of the last seven seasons. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Colorado Tennis Association and is the Chairman of the CTA Rankings Committee.
The award honors an ITA coach for significant contributions in developing community-based tennis programs through community centers, schools, parks, community tennis associations, inner city, suburban or rural programs.
In 2004, the second year for these awards, the program was open to over 2,000 ITA head and assistant coaches at the NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA and Junior/Community College levels.
