Ram Tennis Sweeps Two Matches

Colorado Springs, Colo. ? The Colorado State tennis team improved to 4-2 on the season with a pair of 7-0 victories over the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs and Colorado State Pueblo Sunday afternoon in Colorado Springs.
Against UCCS, the Rams claimed the doubles point with 8-0, 8-2 and 8-0 wins while defeating the Mountain Lions in straight sets in all six singles positions for the sweep. Senior Dasha Zhurin and freshman Anne Andersen both claimed victory in singles and doubles play without giving up a single point to their opponents.
The Rams had an equally successful win against CSU Pueblo later in the day with 8-0, 8-2 and 8-1 wins in doubles before sweeping all singles sets to earn the 7-0 victory. No Thunderwolf earned more than three points in the match during the day.
?We struggled against Wisconsin (on Saturday) and could have played much better? commented head coach Jon Messick. ?The two matches on Sunday were good for us. We tried to improve something in everyone?s game and I think we were pretty successful in doing that. We got a lot out of the matches.?
Colorado State (4-2) will be in action again when they travel to Las Vegas to play four matches March 14-17.
