Women's Golf in Tenth at Spartan Invitational

The Colorado State University women?s golf team shot a 34-over par 610 through two rounds today at the Spartan Invitational and currently is tied for tenth place.

Freshman Chelsea Benton led the Rams with a five-over 149, scoring rounds of 74 and 75. She is tied for 20th place. Senior Kristen Campos is one back at 150 (+6), after shooting a 78 and a 72, the lowest single round score by a Ram for the day. Rounding out the Rams are Lynette Duran with a 155 (+11), Trisha Quick with a 156 (+12), and Margaret Garehime with a 162 (+18). Each team?s lowest individual score is dropped from the team totals.

UCLA holds a tight one-shot lead over Washington in the 15-team field. Cal player Sofie Andersson leads individually after shooting a seven-under par 135, recording rounds of 68 and 67.

The Rams will look to move up in the overall standings when the third and final round begins Wednesday morning at 8 a.m. pacific time, with team teeing off on the 1st and 10th holes every nine minutes
