The Rams finished the match strong by winning the No. 5 and No. 6 singles matches easily. Jessica Jones defeated Andrea House at the No. 5 position 6-2, 6-3, while Alex Paganetti trounced Amy Senko 6-4, 6-1. Emily Kirchem started her No. 2 singles match by losing the first set 2-6. She came out strong in the end beating Corina Lazar 2-6, 7-6(7-5), 7-5. Anne Andersen also played three sets by beating Karolina Rowinski 5-7, 7-5, 7-5 at the No. 3 singles position. Carla Pallares went three sets, but lost to Kim Romero at the No. 4 position 6-7(4), 6-1, 6-2. Dasha Zhurin failed to finish her No. 1 singles game due to an injury.
In doubles play, the new pairing of Emily Kirchem and Anne Andersen outperformed Patricia Chien and Karolina Rowinski at the No. 1 position defeating them 8-2. Jessica Jones and Carla Pallares played extra at the No. 2 position and lost to Corina Lazar and Amy Senko. Alex Paganetti and Jasmin Singh were defeated by Andrea House and Gwen Moser 8-4.
The Rams will play again tomorrow in Wyoming when they face the No. 37 nationally-ranked New Mexico Lobos at noon Mountain Time.
