Rams Slip Two Spots in Founders Collegiate Showdown

Henderson, Nev. - The CSU women's golf team slipped two spots after carding a 13-over 301 Tuesday in the second round of the Las Vegas Founders Collegiate Showdown at the Anthem Country Club in Henderson, Nev. After recording a 299 in round one, the Rams are tied with UCLA with a two-round score of 600.
Freshman Kasey Claussen continues to pace the Rams after a second-round 75. She is currently in a tie for 23rd overall with a two-round total of 148. Chelsea Benton fired the Rams' best round of the day with a one-over 73 on Tuesday. Benton and teammate Megan Chapman are currently tied for 38th with 150 two-round totals. Chapman had a round of 76 Tuesday to follow up Monday's 74. Amber Ward registered rounds of 75 and 81 to rank tied for 69th while Natalie Stone shot a five-over 77 to move up to 72nd in the event with a 157.
Ninteenth-ranked Oklahoma State shot an eight-under 280 Tuesday to lead third-ranked Arizona State by nine strokes with a two-round score of 572. Ashley Knoll of Texas A&M and Arizona State's Azahara Munoz are tied for the individual lead, each with a five-under 139 for the tournament.
Play concludes in the Founders Collegiate Showdown Wednesday with the third round.
