Both the Colorado State men's and women's track and field teams won the Air Force Invitational for the fourth straight season. The Ram men scored 141.5 points to defeat Colorado with 125, while the women claimed the title with 181.5 points with Arizona State coming in second with 127 points.

The Rams brought home six individual titles on the second day of competition. Senior Amanda Huddleston-Miller won the triple jump with a season-best jump of 40-7.75. Freshman Chantelle Dron won the mile in a time of 5:04.23 and sophomore Val McGregor was victorious in the 5,000 meters at 19:00.09. McGregor also led a quartet of Rams to second through fifth places in the 3000 meters. Logan Sherman won the men's 5,000 meters at 15:45.70, while senior Justin Hazzard won the 60 meter hurdles with a season-best time of 8.05. Senior transfer Matt McKinney and senior Nate Heyrman finished first and second, respectively, in the shot put with McKinney throwing a season-best 58-2 -- missing the NCAA provisional qualifying mark by an inch. Heyrman also threw a season best at 56-2.

Junior Megan Fox finished second in both the 60 and 200 meters, posting a season-best in the 60. Freshman Kristen Hemphill and junior Rebekah Yetzer finished second and third in the 800 meters, respectively. Junior Rae Backes was second and Anne McLaughlin finished third in the high jump, both clearing 5-5. Senior Jill McCormick finished second in the weight throw with a toss of 63-4.

Junior Drew Morano, running his first 60 race of the season, finished third after running a 6.88 in the prelims. Sophomore Collin Ferguson placed fourth in the high jump while junior Kevin Johnson was fourth in the long jump and sophomore Jason Smith was fourth in the triple jump. Junior Rob Watson placed second in the 3000, breaking up a group of four Colorado runners.

Next weekend, the Rams will split squads with some of the team going to Boise, Idaho for the Holiday Inn Team Invitational and the rest heading to the Colorado School of Mines Invitational in Golden.
