Benton Moves Up to 17th at UNLV Spring Invitational

Boulder City, Nev. - The Colorado State women's golf team improved its score by nine strokes carding a 308 in the second round of the UNLV Spring Invitational at the Boulder Creek Golf Club Tuesday. The Rams are currently in 18th place with one round to play.
Sophomore Chelsea Benton led the Rams with a one-over 73 on Tuesday and sits in a tie for 17th with a two-round total of 148. Amber Ward is in a tie for 48th for CSU with a three-over 75 on Tuesday and a two-round score of 154.
Megan Chapman has recorded rounds of 80 and 77 and is in 66th with a 157 while freshman Stefanie Ferguson is in 91st with two rounds of 83 (166) in the tournament.
UNLV leads the pack with a team score of 579 after two rounds while New Mexico's Mikaela Backstedt and Long Beach State's Kay Hoey each have 140s to lead the individual standings.
The third and final round of the tournament will be played on Wednesday in Boulder City.
