Rams in Eighth at Ron Moore Intercollegiate

Highlands Ranch, Colo. - The Colorado State women's golf team fired rounds of 298 and 304 in the first day of the Ron Moore Women's Intercollegiate in Highlands Ranch Monday and are sitting in eighth place with a 602 total in day one of the event.
The Rams are led by junior Chelsea Benton who carded rounds of 71 and 69 for a two-round score of 140, just one stroke behind a trio of leaders with a 139 in the tournament. Benton's 69 is only two strokes off her own school record score of 67 shot last year.
Sophomore Stefanie Ferguson had rounds of 73 and 79 for a 152, good for a tie for 32nd and freshman Kasey Claussen is tied for 42nd after rounds of 75 and 79 for a two-round score of 154.
Redshirt freshman Natalie Stone had a 79-77--156 and is tied for 52nd while junior Megan Chapman carded a 79 and 82 for a 161 in the first day.
Host school Denver is leading the tournament with a two round score of 564 after rounds of 279 and 285.
Play will conclude with the final 18 holes of the tournament starting at 8:45 a.m. at the 6,399-yard, par 72 Highlands Ranch Golf Club.
