LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The Colorado State women's tennis team continued its strong play Monday, sweeping Dixie State at Bally's in Las Vegas, Nev., as part of its spring-break trip. This marks the squad's second sweep of the season and second consecutive.

In doubles play, the Rams (5-3, 0-0 MWC) swept all three matches for the third time this spring.

Sticking with Laura Neal and Hilary Tyler at the No. 1 spot, the Rams saw the duo earn its second consecutive 8-0 win and improve to 2-0 on the year.

At No. 2, Greer Satherlie competed in her first doubles match of the year, teaming up with Caitlin Fluegge. The pair also earned an 8-0 win.

Sarah Seltsam and Kirsten Stople were able to capture an 8-1 victory at the No. 3 position to give the Rams a 1-0 lead.

In singles, the Rams were able to sweep the competition. Neal competed at the No. 1 spot for the first time this season and earned a victory in straight sets.

Fluegge also moved up from her No. 4 spot Sunday to earn a clean 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles. The victory is also her seventh consecutive and 13th of the year.

Seltsam competed in her first singles match of the spring season, earning a decisive 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles.

Tyler, Satherlie and Stople also earned decisive wins at Nos. 2, 4 and 5 singles, respectively.

"You play hard, even if it's one-sided," commented Head Coach Jon Messick. "That shows the team respected their opponent."

"Where the team could have lost focus, they didn't," said Messick. "They were able to maintain focus even though it wasn't as competitive as some of the other matches we've had."

Lauren Strasburger and Anette Pohjalainen both missed the match due to sickness. Their status is listed as day-to-day.

The three-match trip concludes Tuesday when the Rams take on Wisconsin-Green Bay at 10 a.m. PT at Bally's in Las Vegas, Nev.
