SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Colorado State women's tennis team continued conference play Sunday facing San Diego State. Despite a decisive win at the No. 2 doubles position, the Rams were unable to handle the Aztecs, falling 7-0 at the Aztec Tennis Center.

The Rams (6-10, 0-6 MWC) are currently on a seven-match losing streak. The squad has dropped six of the seven matches to ranked opponents. SDSU picked up its third straight victory, moving to 10-12 overall and 3-5 in Mountain West play.

In doubles play, the Rams saw Laura Neal and Anette Pohjalainen earn the only win for the Rams on the afternoon. Bringing a 6-6 record into the match, the sophomore duo captured a decisive 8-2 win at the No. 2 spot against a senior/junior competition. This marks their first win since March 1 over Gonzaga.

Lauren Strasburger and Hilary Tyler gave the Aztecs a close match competing at the No. 1 spot. Down early in the match, the Rams mounted a late rally, but were overcome by the Krausova/Trunk team, dropping the match, 8-6.

Sarah Seltsam and Kirsten Stople brought a team-high nine doubles wins into their match, but were blanked 7-0 for the first time this season.

As the Rams entered singles play, they were overcome by a tough, relentless SDSU squad.

Despite retiring in singles play Saturday against UNLV, Tyler competed at the No. 1 singles spot. Able to win a total of six games, she lost to Holly Bagshaw in straight sets.

The Rams would fair as well in the remaining spots, winning no more than three games at any one position.

The Rams return to the court Tuesday as they take on Northern Colorado in a make-up match, and face Wyoming Wednesday. Both matches will be held at Fossil Creek Park in Fort Collins, Colo.
