FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Colorado State scored seven runs on eight hits to close out the 2008 regular season with a 7-1 win over Utah, and say good-bye to seniors Cayte Billman, Lauren Cusick and Julia Kloppe. The Rams finished the season 29-22 overall and 9-11 in MWC play.
Kloppe ended her college career on a high note, finishing the game 2-for-3 with two home runs and four RBI. She hit her first homer in the bottom of the second inning to tie the score at one.
She hit her second home run in the bottom of the fifth inning after sophomore Ashley Munoz doubled to left center and sophomore Rebecca Penland singled up the middle.
The Rams added two more runs in the bottom of the sixth to take the 7-1 lead and Billman struck out the final Utah batter to pick up her 11th win on the season and close out her college career with a complete-game three-hitter.
