FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Camps for three sports, swimming, women's basketball and football, begin this week, kicking off a busy summer of Colorado State camps.

Football camp:

  • Wednesday-Saturday (high school teams). Teams are allowed to compete against each other and do it in front of one of the top Division I coaching staffs in the region.
  • June 9-11 (youth football camp) for Grades 3-8; no pads needed. Space available, call 970/491-6131.

Women's basketball camp: Today-Friday, ages: kindergarten - eighth grade. This is a fundamentals camp that works to improve shooting, passing, ball handling, defense, and running the fast break. Space available, call 970/491-6569.

Swimming camp (full): Sunday-Friday, ages: 8-18. This camp develops strokes and provides the latest stroke technique information. Campers will gain knowledge of nutrition, race strategy, mental preparation, and goal setting.

NCAA outdoor track and field championships

Nine athletes have qualified for the NCAA outdoor track and field championships which will begin in Des Moines, Iowa at Drake University on June 11 - 14.

Ram Club referral contest

The Colorado State University Ram Club has announced a New Member Referral Contest which began Sunday and will run through Aug. 31. The contest will feature a number of prizes for new referrals from current Ram Club members.

Prizes will be awarded to the top referrers based on the number of new members brought in. The top referrers who recruit 16 or more new members will receive an autographed ball of their choice.
