RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. - The Colorado State women's golf team closed play at the 2013 Mountain West Championship on Saturday at the Dinah Shore Tournament Course at the Mission Hills Country Club. The Rams finished seventh in the tournament, behind a top-20 individual performance by junior Emily Roering.
Roering, who opened the tournament with rounds of 73 and 82, finished tied for 19th in the 40-player field by capping the tournament with a 7-over 79 during Saturday's final round. It marked Roering's third top-20 finish of the season, and her eighth tournament as the Rams' top performer.
Four other Rams, juniors Betsy Kelly and Christina Spinzig, and redshirt freshman Mikayla Tatman, matched Roering's final round of 79 to round out the scoring for Colorado State.
Kelly finished alone in 22nd place with a three-round total of 236 (+20), two strokes behind Roering. Tatman (243) and Spinzig (244) finished tied for 31st and tied for 33rd, respectively.
Sophomore Jessa LaBarbera did not score for the Rams in Round 3, but closed the tournament as the Rams' No. 3 finisher in 28th place with a total score of 239 (+23).
