COPENHAGEN, Denmark – The Colorado State women’s basketball team closed out the final contest of its four-game Scandinavian Tour with a 94-69 victory over Stevensgade Basket on Thursday evening behind huge scoring games from senior Jamie Patrick and junior Elin Gustavsson.
“Tonight was a great way to end an amazing experience,” said Rams head coach Ryun Williams. “This group really grew closer over the last 10 days, and it was fun watching them come together as a team. I'm excited to coach this group; they seem to want to really compete.”
Patrick, 5-10 guard from Hutchison, Kan., recorded 26 points to lead all scorers, hitting 10-of-13 shots from the field including an impressive 6-for-8 shooting from three-point range. Gustavsson, a native of Angelholm, Sweden, finished with 20 points on 7-for-12 shooting and also connected on all six of her attempts from the free-throw line.
The Rams also impressed on the boards with senior forwards Keyora Wharry and Emilie Hesseldal each pulling down nine rebounds. Wharry notched eight of her nine on the defensive end of the floor, while Hesseldal posted five boards on the offensive glass.
