FULLERTON, Calif. – Colorado State traveled to California for spring break, opening the week with a 7-0 loss to nationally ranked Cal State Fullerton.
In doubles action, CSU (3-8) led from the No. 1 position, 4-3, when its match was halted due to Fullerton (12-2) taking the doubles point with wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots. CSU lost its five singles matches, in addition to dropping the point at the No. 6 position because the Rams couldn’t fill the spot. Aina Hernandez Soler had the best chance to win, nearly forcing a third set against her opponent at the No. 3 position, before dropping the second set in a tiebreaker.
The Rams will be back in action Wednesday against UConn. The neutral-site match will take place at 3:30 p.m. MT from Long Beach, Calif.
