FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Nearly 200 student-athletes and coaches from 14 of Colorado State’s athletics programs helped welcome freshmen onto campus Wednesday and Thursday, carrying boxes, furniture, appliances and personal belongings from parking areas to their new rooms.

In all, members of the football, volleyball, men's basketball, women’s basketball, soccer, track & field, cross country, men's golf, swimming and diving and softball teams participated in shifts both days between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. The football team had approximately 90 student-athletes helping new students move in all morning, with representatives at Parmelee, Corbett, Westfall and Durward and Allison halls. Other programs combined to provide assistance at additional halls, including Academic Village, Edwards and Laurel Village.

CSU’s official start to its athletics year kicks off with the soccer team playing at the University of Denver in a Colorado Cup clash Friday at 7 p.m. MT.
