Colorado State vs. Air Force – POSTGAME NOTES
Oct. 28, 2017 | Sonny Lubick Field at CSU Stadium | Fort Collins, Colo.
Air Force 45, Colorado State 28

TEAM
  • The Rams scored on their opening drive for the fourth time in their last five outings (and 5 of their last 7)
  • Air Force scored on its first drive – only the second time this year that a CSU opponent has scored on its first possession (Alabama).
  • Following the Falcons' opening TD drive, CSU responded with a 4-play, 96-yard TD drive of its own. It was CSU's second 90 yard TD drive of the year (13-play, 99-yard drive vs. ACU).
  • CSU was 6-of-10 on third downs (60 percent). The Rams entered the game ranked third in the FBS in third down conversion percentage (51.8).
  • WR Michael Gallup and RB Dalyn Dawkins each went over 100 yards today. It's the third time this season that the duo has each gone over 100 yards in the same game, and the eighth time over the past two seasons.
  • The loss snapped CSU's six-game home winning streak dating back to last season. It also snapped a six-game overall MW winning streak.

INDIVIDUAL
  • WR Michael Gallup finished with 7 receptions for 161 yards and a TD.
    • Gallup ranks 6th in career receiving yards at CSU (2,439). For his career, he is averaging 110.9 receiving yards per game which ranks No. 1 among all active FBS players.
    • His 7 receptions bring him into a tie for seventh in career catches with 148 (tied with Willie Miller). He passed No. 8 Pete Rebstock (143) today.
    • It was his fifth 100-yard game of the season (11th of his career in 22 career games played)
    • His first TD gave the Rams a 14-7 lead at the 4:19 mark of the first quarter. WR Detrich Clark received the snap out of a wildcat formation and then pitched to QB Nick Stevens who was moving left-to-right out of the slot. Stevens completed the 55-yard pass to Gallup – the third time this year they've connected for a play of 55 yards or longer (2 TDs).
    • Gallup now has 1,167 yards on the season, 105 yards behind his career high from last season (1,272). He entered the game as the nation's leading receiver by a 92-yard margin over Oklahoma State's James Washington.
  • QB Nick Stevens was 17-of-31 for 269 yards, 2 TDs and 3 INTs.
    • With his 2 TDs, he is now just 1 away from tying Garrett Grayson's career record of 64.
    • Stevens now has 22 TD passes on the season, which is a new career high (21 in 2015).
    • Stevens ranks second in career passing yards at CSU with 7,506.
      • Grayson (2011-14) holds the record with 9,191
  • RB Dalyn Dawkins had 13 carries for 141 yards and a TD. He also had 3 receptions for 39 yards.
    • He had a 76-yard TD run on his first rush. It was the longest rush of his career, and the longest rush since Dee Hart had a 76-yarder on Nov. 22, 2014, versus New Mexico.
    • It was Dawkins' fourth 100-yard game of 2017 and the 13th of his career. That ties for the third-most 100-yard games in a career at CSU (Cecil Sapp, Kevin McDougal).
    • It's the second time this season that Dawkins has had over 100 yards rushing while averaging over 10 yards per carry.
      • Had 17 carries for 191 yards against Nevada (10/14).
