Recap: Colorado State Stays Perfect at the Home2Suites with Sweep over UNC Asheville

TALLAHASSEE – The Colorado State volleyball team stayed perfect at the Home2Suites Invite with a sweep over UNC Asheville on Friday night in Tully Gymnasium. The Rams hit a season-best .425 in the victory, while again holding their opponent to a low hitting percentage - .172 and putting up nine blocks.
Kirstie Hillyer led the squad again with nine kills, while Sanja Cizmic and Paulina Hougaard-Jensen added eight each. The trio also led the team in blocks with a combined 14 rejections. Katie Oleksak primed the offense with 31 assists and Amanda Young floored three aces.
The Rams (4-1) used numerous runs throughout the match to keep the Bulldogs in the rearview mirror and to secure the sweep. In the first set, Colorado State used a three or-more-point run three different times to pick up a 25-18 win to start the match. The Rams took a 2-0 match lead after the second set, which was the only frame that they committed more than two attack errors – with three. CSU used five different runs in the final frame to handle the Bulldogs easily and to record the sweep.
The Rams will close the Home2Suites Invite tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m. MT facing host No. 15 Florida State. The match will be streamed on the ESPN App and HERE.
