FORT COLLINS, Colo. β The Colorado State swimming & diving squad will host Air Force on Friday at Moby Pool in the team's final dual meet of the 2017-18 season. The 3-meter dive will kick the event off at 3:15 p.m. MT, while the first swim event will occur at 4 p.m.

The entire meet will be streamed live at CSURams.com/live.
Β
CSU is coming off one of its most successful weeks in recent memory, going 5-0 from Jan. 8-13. The Rams began that week with three wins in San Diego against a trio of Mountain West foes β San Diego State, Fresno State and New Mexico. CSU then beat Northern Arizona and Northern Colorado in consecutive days to cap a nearly perfect week.
Β
"It was a huge accomplishment," CSU head coach Woody Woodard said. "It maybe caught us a little by surprise, how tough we were against San Diego State and how well we swam. It's a huge shot in the arm for the girls' confidence."
Β
Junior Tonicia Thomas played a huge role in CSU's success in those competitions, and was awarded MW Swimmer of the Week honors for her efforts.
Β
"Toni has been a star for us, basically since she walked on campus," Woodard said.
Β
This dual against Air Force is CSU's final competitive opportunity to get tuned up before the MW Championships in San Antonio (Feb. 14-17). CSU will use the meet as an opportunity to evaluate themselves one final time before heading to Texas, but the squad also wants to beat its MW rival.
"It's not a meet where we can go in and just swim proper races; we have to compete and try to win," Woodard said. "Air Force is a tough rival that took us in a dual last year and our girls carried that into conference."
Β
The Falcons are 10-6 in duals this season. AFA and CSU both competed at the Phill Hansel Invite in Houston in November, with the Falcons placing fifth and the Rams finishing seventh in the 10-team field. AFA defeated CSU, 158-123, in Albuquerque, N.M., last season.
