BOULDER CITY, Nev. – The Colorado State women's golf team finished the first day of the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown tied for ninth place with a three-over 291. Katrina Prendergast and Jessica Sloot led the Rams tied for eighth, each carding two-under 70s.

Oregon State leads the field with an eight-under 280 and Olivia Jackson from Tulsa leads individuals with a six-under 66. Just five shots separate Colorado State and Augusta and Idaho who scored a 286 in the first round and are tied for fourth.

Jessica Sloot started the day on the back course and made the turn at two-under as she inked three birdies in the first nine holes. On the front, the junior holed another birdie before finished the round at two-under. Katrina Prendergast also started on the back, making the turn at even par with a pair of birdies on the course. In the front, the senior cruised to a five-under with five-consecutive birdies before finishing the round at two-under.
